Cardano NFTs have turned some heads in the past 8 weeks as network stats have already revealed how much activity is going on in that particular part of the overall NFT market. At the end of March, it became clear that the next big thing is going down on the Cardano blockchain.
What is the Clay Nation and how does Snoop Dogg fit in this world full of clay characters?
It is not the first time that Snoop Dogg gets involved in a crypto project. The OG rapper is a known member of the Bored Ape Yacht Club and repeatedly showed his support for Dogecoin along with Gene Simmons and Elon Musk. But that’s just half of his story and involvement in crypto. Snoop also owns digital land in the Sandbox metaverse.
It seems that it is time Snoop Dogg has taken an interest in Cardano’s NFT landscape when he partnered with the Clay Nation. The collection already became available in January and consists of 10.000 different NFTs each picturing an individual clay character.
It was this weekend when the Clay Nation made its next move and created even more opportunities for NFT holders and the public alike.
As most NFT projects opted for digital land plots, the Clay Nation isn’t that much different. NFT holders had the opportunity to mint their own pitches in the Sonic Village or a place called Underworld. The only land pitches that became available to the public on pre-sale is the Baked Nation.
In the future, pitches will become customizable and each collectible will act as a key to unlockable content. It will be unreleased music from the son of Snoop Dogg, Champ, which is produced by his father. Interestingly enough, the NFTs will represent ownership in form of shared commercial ownership.
Another bonus will be a token allocation per pitch that is still to be announced. What we do know is that CLAY will become the projects very own token, adding further value to the ecosystem. In the meantime, some of the NFTs became available on the secondary market. At the time of writing the prize is ranging somewhere between 799 ADA and 420.000 ADA for a clay character. Pitches at the Clay Nation start a little bit cheaper with 540 ADA.

Most crypto and NFT-related software are open-source and it is kept this way for good reason. But as soon as companies start showing interest in new technology, they want to keep their developments safe by securing intellectual property. Often this reveals highly interesting trends because to protect this property, companies have to file patent applications. These applications are public and therefore everybody can take a good look at what might become the future in the respective field.

Amazon is actively looking into NFTs. Lego is entering the metaverse and companies like Adidas already have celebrated successful partnerships with iconic NFT projects such as the BAYC. NFTs are not the only use case when it comes down to Web3 but they do play an important role in this developing ecosystem. While some companies are opening themselves up to new ideas and opportunities, others are shutting their doors by trying to control digital products rather than sharing them with their customers.

On April 24th Amazon will launch its NFT platform. According to this unconfirmed rumor, Amazon Prime customers in the US will be able to trade 15 NFT collections. The bigger news is that Amazon is set to dive into the 'twin NFT' market, where NFT's are 'tied' to physical assets.

Bitcoin NFTs are so-called inscriptions and an ongoing success story. Most recently over 150,000 NFTs were minted on the Bitcoin blockchain. Soon after that milestone was reached, Yuga Labs announced the auction of its very first NFT collection on Bitcoin. It looks like TwelveFold is a success story even though not everybody is happy with how this auction was conducted.
